Levi Ajuonuma dead… in ill fated plane
June 3, 2012 in Nigerian Current Affairs
Several knowledgeable sources Sunday confirmed that the ill-fated Lagos bound Dana Airlines aircraft that crashed in Iju-Ishaga in Agbado, near Lagos late Sunday afternoon was carrying Mr. Ehime Aikhomu, son of former Vice President, Late Admiral Augustus Aikhomu and Mrs. Rebecca Aikhomu.
THE WILL can also report that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC) Group General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Levi Ajuonuma, was also onboard the aircraft.
A senior NNPC source told THEWILL that Ajuonuma was traveling to Lagos for an official assignment.
Also onboard was businessman Innocent Okoye, who alongside Ehime had gone to Abuja to attend the 40th birthday party of a family friend.
All 153 passengers and crew are believed to have been killed in the plane, which left Abuja for Lagos on Sunday afternoon.
A source at Dana Airlines told THEWILL that families of the victims would be notified before their names are made public.
The Indian owned Dana Air operates 5 McDonnel Douglas MD 83 aircrafts. All 5 planes were built between 20-21 years ago.
We are however working independently to get more information.
