Court Reverses the Renaming of UNILAG

A Federal High Court has stopped the renaming of University of Lagos Moshood Abiola University.
It will be recalled that the renaming of the institution on May 29th Democracy day, led to a series of protests both by the university students and civil society. The president was accused of making the move to score cheap political points in the wake of the continued crisis and insecurity in Nigeria.
A court injunction has put on hold the renaming of the school.
The Ivory tower is to remain University of Lagos pending the determination of the case.
